FCFC Fall 2025 Recreational Season

FCFC Fall 2026 Recreational Season FAQs

In Fall 2026, our boys and girls recreational teams will play in FCFC’s Fall 2026 recreational league.  Where we have enough teams registered in a single division (i.e. 4 or more teams), those teams will play against other FCFC teams in Liga FCFC (“Liga FCFC”).  Where we have 3 or fewer teams in a single division, the teams in that division will play against recreational teams from other local youth soccer organizations (“FCFC Interleague”).  We anticipate Boys and Girls U10 and older will play in FCFC Interleague.

Practices:  All FCFC teams will practice on fields in Fullerton.  Fall season practices will begin the week of August 18.  There will be two practices per week.  Days and times for practices will depend on the coach.

Games: Games will begin Saturday, September 12.  Regular season recreational games will be on Saturdays.  For teams playing in Liga FCFC, all games will be on Fullerton City fields.  For teams playing in FCFC Interleague, home games will be played on Fullerton fields and away games will be played on a neighboring city’s field, e.g. La Mirada.

General Information:

What is the registration period?

·       Early bird registration ($20 off per registrant) runs through May 8.  Registration ends on June 30.  If any registrant is accepted after June 30, a $25 late registration fee will apply.

How many games can my child expect to play during the Fall 2026 season?

·       All FCFC teams will play 10+ games during the Fall Recreational season.  This includes 9 regular season games, plus 2-4 FCFC Champions Cup games.

What day of the week will games be held?

·       Regular season games will be on Saturdays.

·       Group stage games of the FCFC Champions Cup games may be held on weekdays during the week of November 9.  Semi-finals and finals will be held on the weekend of November 14.

Where will the games be held?

·       Liga FCFC games will be held in Fullerton, including Bastanchury Park, Fullerton Sports Complex (FSC), Acacia Park, and Byerrum Park.

·       FCFC Interleague home games will be held in Fullerton, and away games may be held in neighboring cities (e.g. La Mirada).

·       FCFC is a newly established organization that launched its inaugural season in Fall 2024.  Our long-term goal (with your support!) is to register enough players to form teams across divisions, organized by age and gender.  Ideally each division (e.g. Boys U10) will have at least four teams.  For our older divisions, we will hold an interleague with a neighboring youth soccer organization.  This collaboration will ensure a vibrant and engaging season for all players.

Tell me more about practices.  How often, where, and what time?

·       Each recreational team will have 2 practices per week.

·       Practices will be held in Fullerton (e.g. Bastanchury Park, Fullerton Sports Complex, Acacia Park, Richman Park, Byerrum Park)

·       The coach of each recreational team will decide the date, time, and location of the practice.

How much does the Fall 2026 recreational season cost:

·       Boys and Girls U6 and Younger: $155 ($20 less for early bird registration thru May 8)

·       Boys and Girls U7-U10: $195 ($20 less for early bird registration thru May 8)

·       Boys and Girls U11-U14: $235 ($20 less for early bird registration thru May 8)

·       In addition to the FCFC registration fee, registrants will be responsible for paying the $12-$15 Cal South admin fee.

What information do I need to register?

·       Copy of child’s birth certificate, child’s photo, size of jersey, shorts, and socks, and school name

How do I select an Age Division for Registration?

·       New Change to School Year Registration Format:   For the last 10 years, teams have been formed based on the Birth Year calendar of each player; January through December.  Now US Youth Soccer and Cal South are requiring that registration be aligned with players' age based on a School Year calendar; August 1 through the following July 31.

·       See the 2026 Age Matrix on our website to determine which division you should register your child for.

What does "U10" mean?   What age are the kids on a team?

·       "U" means “under.”  Every player on each team is born August 1st through July 31st of the following year.  Some players will be older than others during the course of a season, but when each Fall season starts all players are "under" that age number.  For example, all U10 players are born from August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017.  By the start of the Fall 2026 season, all of these players will still be “under” 10 years of age.

Can I request my child be placed with a specific player or coach?

·       Generally, no.  To ensure parity and balance among teams, FCFC does not allow coaches to “freeze” players during the Fall season.  For the U8 and older divisions, FCFC will hold players evaluations and coaches will evaluate and draft players.

·       Coaches’ and managers’ children will automatically be placed with their parents.  If you would like for your child to play on the same team with a friend or need to coordinate rides with a friend, consider coaching and managing a team together.

·       For U5 and U6 divisions, FCFC will attempt to place players with other children from the same school.  Because there are no player evaluations for these divisions, coaches and parents in the U5 and U6 divisions may submit special player requests here.  FCFC will attempt to accommodate these requests.  These requests must be submitted by June 12, no exceptions.

Will age divisions be combined?

·       U9/U10, U11/U12, and U13/U14 may be combined in the Recreational Division to form U10, U12, and U14 divisions, respectively.

·       U5 and U6 divisions will not be combined.

What does the Fall 2026 recreational fee include?

·       Practices and games (all games for Liga FCFC teams) on Fullerton’s best fields!

·       Full uniform, including FCFC jersey, shorts and socks

·       10/+ games

o   This includes 9 regular season games, plus 2-4 FCFC Champions Cup games.

·       Picture day

·       Commemorative trophy

·       Referee fees where applicable

·       All-Stars opportunity

Is there a discount if I register multiple children?

·       Yes.  You will receive a $20 discount for each additional child you register.

Is there a discount if I coach?

·       Yes.  We need volunteer coaches!  You will receive FREE REGISTRATION if you coach your child’s team.  All coaches will need to complete basic training (e.g. Safesport, concussions protocol) and Livescan (background check).

·       You haven’t coached before?  It’s all good!  We just need dedicated parents who will create a positive, fun, and supportive environment and culture for the players.  FCFC will start the season with a very informative coaches’ training.

Non-Fullerton Residents

·       Non-Fullerton residents are subject to a $20 non-resident fee per registrant.  As an official partner group of the City of Fullerton, FCFC is required to maintain an 80% residency rate.  If it appears that FCFC could fall below the 80% threshold, some non-Fullerton registrants may be refunded (less third-party Cal South Membership fee and service fee) to ensure that FCFC remains compliant with the residency rate.

Do I need to commit volunteer hours or pay a volunteer opt-out fee?

·       FCFC is an entirely volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  To that end, we will require every parent to volunteer in some capacity.  As a growing organization, we need your help, as a coach, team manager, lining fields, division liaison, marketing, creating player cards, etc.  During the registration process, please select a volunteer role and complete the volunteer form on our website or register to volunteer as a coach.  You are not required to pay any opt-out fees.

What happens if FCFC cannot find a coach for my child’s team?

  •  We make every effort to find a coach for each team.  If we are unable to find a coach, your child’s season may be cancelled, or the players on the team will be assigned to another team if there is space on those other teams.

Can I get a refund if my child is unable to play during the Fall 2026 season?

  • Yes.  FCFC will refund 100% of the FCFC Spring 2026 registration fees (less third-party processing fees) in response to all refund requests received on or before July 15.  Any refund requests received after this date will not be considered.
