FCFC Spring 2026 Recreational Season FAQs
In Spring 2026, our recreational teams for Boys and Girls U5 to U7 will play all games on Sundays on Fullerton fields. For the U8 to U12 divisions, our Boys and Girls teams will play in the Tri-City Interleague with La Mirada Soccer Association (LMSA) and AC Brea, meaning that FCFC U8 to U12 recreational teams will play against other local recreational teams from La Mirada and Brea. Games will be played on fields in Fullerton (e.g. Bastanchury Park), La Mirada (e.g. Behringer Park) and Brea (e.g. Brea Sports Park).
Spring season practices will begin the week of February 16. Practices will be held once or twice per week in Fullerton (the number of practices subject to coach’s discretion). Games will begin the weekend of March 1. Most, if not all, games will be on Sundays. For Boys and Girls U8 to U12, home games will be on Fullerton fields. We will attempt to schedule all home games for Sundays after 12:00.

General Information
When does the Spring 2026 season begin?
- Spring 2026 Season Period: Spring 2026 season practices begin the week of February 16, 2026. Games begin the weekend of March 1. Spring season ends weekend of May 1.
How many games will be held during the Spring 2026 season?
- FCFC plans to have 9 games during the Spring Recreational interleague.
What day of the week will games be held?
- Most, if not all, games will be held on Sundays. We will attempt to schedule all home games in Fullerton for Sundays after 12:00.
Where will the games be held?
- For FCFC’s U5 to U7 divisions, all games will be held at a park in Fullerton.
- For the U5 and U6 divisions, games will be held at Acacia Park.
- For the U7 divisions, games will be held at Bastanchury Park or Byerrum Park.
- For FCFC U8 to U12 divisions, home games will be held in Fullerton. Away games will be held in neighboring cities, including La Mirada and Brea.
- FCFC is a newly established organization that launched its inaugural recreational season in Fall 2024. As we build our league, we’re focused on ensuring we have enough registered players to form teams across divisions, organized by age and gender. Our goal is to create divisions with at least four teams each. For divisions where registration numbers are limited we have partnered with LMSA and AC Brea to create an "inter-league." This partnership will allow FCFC recreational teams to compete with multiple other recreational teams from neighboring cities, ensuring a vibrant and engaging season for all players.
How many practices will be held during the Spring 2026 season?
- Each recreational team will have 1-2 practices per week.
- The coach of each recreational team will decide whether to hold one or two practices.
Where will practices be held?
- At a park (e.g. Bastanchury Park, Fullerton Sports Complex) or school in Fullerton
How much does the Spring 2026 Recreational season cost:
- U5 to U7: $75 (early bird registration from Dec 1 to Dec 31); $100 beginning Jan 1
- U8 to U12: $115 (early bird registration Dec 1 to Dec 31); $140 beginning Jan 1
How do I select an Age Division for Registration?
- New Change to School Year Registration Format: For the last 10 years, teams have been formed based on the Birth Year calendar of each player; January through December. USYS is recommending that teams should be formed aligned with players' age based on a School Year calendar; August 1 through the following July 31.
- CalSouth and FCFC will adopt this change beginning with the Spring 2026 season
What does "U10" mean? What age are the kids on a team?
- "U" means UNDER. Every player on each team is born August 1st through July 31st of the following year. Some players will be older than others during the course of a season, but when each Fall season starts all players are "under" that age number. For example, all U10 players are born from August 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017. By the start of the Fall 2026 season, all of these players will still be “under” 10 years of age.
Is there a discount if I coach?
- Yes. We need volunteer coaches! Your child will receive FREE REGISTRATION for the team you coach. All coaches will need to complete basic training (e.g. Safesport, concussions protocol) and Livescan (background check).
Do I need to commit volunteer hours or pay a volunteer opt-out fee?
- FCFC is an entirely volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. To that end, we will require every parent to volunteer in some capacity. As a growing organization, we need your help, as a coach, team manager, lining fields, division liaison, marketing, creating player cards, etc. During the registration process, please select a volunteer role and complete the volunteer form on our website or register to volunteer as a coach.
What happens if FCFC cannot find a coach for my child’s team?
- We make every effort to find a coach for each team. If we are unable to find a coach, your child’s season may be cancelled, or the players on the team will be assigned to another team if there is space on those other teams.
Can I get a refund if my child is unable to play during the Spring 2026 season?
- Yes. FCFC will refund 100% of the FCFC Spring 2026 registration fees (less third party processing fees) in response to all refund requests received on or before February 1. Any refund requests received after this date will not be considered.
